Television Academy Honors Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen with Bob Hope Humanitarian Award

Linda Hope Attends 80th Commemoration of the End of World War II at Pearl Harbor

The Bob and Dolores Hope Foundation was honored to sponsor the 80th Commemoration of the End of World War II at Pearl Harbor, where Linda Hope joined veterans, military families, and distinguished guests in remembrance.

The event paid tribute to the courage and sacrifice of those who served on the battlefield and on the home front. It also honored the legacy of Bob Hope and the many Hollywood entertainers who accompanied him around the world, bringing comfort and morale to the Greatest Generation stationed far from home.

The film examines Bob Hope’s extraordinary contribution during World War II and the incredible distances his troupe traveled to bring comfort, laughter, and connection to Americans serving in Europe, the Pacific, and on the home front.

Operation Homefront Achieves Historic Goal with Bob & Dolores Hope Foundation’s Million Dollar Match Challenge

The foundation’s investment honors Bob Hope’s legacy with an incentive to give, strengthening campaign to secure the futures of America’s military families.

San Antonio, Texas – National nonprofit Operation Homefront announced today, as it celebrates 22 years of serving America’s military families, that, thanks to the generosity of many corporate, foundation, and individual investors, it has met a historic Million Dollar Match challenge provided by the Bob & Dolores Hope Foundation.

The match was designed to rally public support for and investment in Operation Homefront’s United We Stand major funding campaign with the goal of generating the resources needed to help the organization secure the futures of our nation’s military families for decades to come.

New Book Draws on the Library’s Bob Hope Collection

In the spring of 1941, Bob Hope couldn’t understand why his producer was pushing him to broadcast his hit radio show from a California military base instead of the Burbank studio. He was a celebrity, a big star, a comedian who worked on stage, radio and film. And yet his producer, Al Capstaff, wanted Hope to perform in front of an audience of enlisted soldiers at a busy training installation known as March Field.

The 2,200-square foot traveling exhibition tells the story of Bob Hope, an American comedian, actor and entertainer whose career started in the 1930’s and continued through the 1990’s. The exhibition includes a series of themed exhibit display units that celebrate his comedic contributions, achievements in entertainment, relationships with a number of U.S. Presidents and his other passion – golf.
